New York City, or simply New York, is the most populous city of the United States. Settled in 1624 by Dutch colonists as a trading post, the city was first called New Amsterdam before it came under English control in 1664. It was briefly the capital of the new United States from 1785 until 1790, and has been the largest city in the US since.
New York City consists of five boroughs: Brooklyn, Queens, Manhattan, The Bronx, and Staten Island.
Day of the Consortium

On the eve of the first 2020 presidential debate, New York was site of the attempted attacks on Senator James Watts and Vice President Josh Cardiff by Consortium terrorists. Jefferson's team was sent to rescue Watts on a Manhattan highrise, and at the end Watts was handed over to CIA agent Roe. Richter was suspicious of Roe's actions, and ordered Jefferson to follow his helicopter. Jefferson's tailing led him to Kiefer Tower, where he was attacked by numerous mercenaries right before the rooftop of the building explodes.
Meanwhile, Oz Jackson was sent to secure the John F. Kennedy International Airport, which was being attacked by terrorists trying to get to Cardiff, who was boarded on a plane unable to take off.
