The Spinner UGCV is a multi-role unmanned main battle tank in use by the Task Force Talon. It has three different modes of attack that can counter different kinds of threats in battle.
Overview[]
Expensive and requiring its own specialized structure to build and control, the Spinner UGCV is nevertheless a highly versatile tank equivalent, due in no small part with its good armor and options of armament. Specifically, they have health in-between the Akula and Abrams.
Mode switching is done in a matter of seconds, during which the unit is vulnerable. Being unmanned, Spinners do not produce pilots when destroyed.
The standard tank mode is an 105 mm anti-tank railgun highly effective against other tanks and structures. This gun may not be as powerful as the Consortium Akula's railguns or the US Army Abrams' main gun, but compensates with a higher rate of fire. It however cannot target air and is inefficient against infantry.
The second mode is a set of extremely powerful dual anti-air missile launchers that can down most aircraft in a single salvo from extreme range. It has all the necessary armor that the Avenger and the Buggy lack, and works very well when it is backed by allies that defend it from grounded threats.
The third mode allows for the launching of a remotely operated bomb drone that can be upgraded with stealth capabilities. The bomb drone creates a devastating blast, and will approach as close as possible to the target before exploding. Detonation is prompted by a manual trigger or if it takes too much damage. Like most vehicles, it can run over and kill infantry directly. Each UGCV may only operate one bomb drone at a time, and each drone is replaced at no additional cost once it has been destroyed. This may be an effective weapon for initiating surprise attacks both in an offense or defense, especially once the bomb drone is equipped with stealth capacity.
Overall, Spinners are powerful vehicles, with exceptional synergies when paired together in different modes to cover each other's weaknesses. They also appreciate support from just about anything else to fend off threats.
